My wife Stephanie and I both pretty much grew up in Ocean City during the summers and we both wanted to tie the knot down by the ocean and make it OC-themed. We were married on 42nd street oceanside, and I hired Randy Hofman to create a sand sculpture for us for the ceremony ( I remember my Best Man commissioned one of his friends to actually sit in a chair on the beach next to the sculpture for most of the day, making sure no one vandalized it until the ceremony). It was a simple beach wedding with only one row of chairs for family, and our guests stood in the sand. Instead of rice, everyone was given a mini beach ball and they all threw them at us as we walked down the aisle.

Our reception took place directly across the street at the Sunset Room, which at the time was owned and operated by the convention center. It's basically a large rustic room that sits on the bayside  with windows all around and a huge porch in the back that overlooks the bay. (I know it got damaged by a hurricane a few years back ... I'm not even sure if they still use it.)

The reception was OC-themed and each table was an OC Place. We had a haunted house cake! Our favors were Fishers Popcorn, and guests could play in the Coffin Carriage and take photos in it. It was a little rainy that night, but luckily the major downpours held off so we could get our special night in. To be honest, I can't really do the event justice, but photos can.

**Side note, the morning of our wedding we had an extensive photo shoot done with the wedding party INSIDE the Haunted House, on the carousel, and around the Trimper's park.

My husband proposed to me at sunset on the pier at Seacrets in May 2011 because he knew what a special place Ocean City was for me for my entire life. My family vacationed there every year and we then started visiting yearly together. As soon as he proposed, we knew we wanted our wedding to be held in Ocean City even though we are from the Lehigh Valley area of Pennsylvania. We fell in love with the sunset bayside wedding option and immediately decided to hold our wedding and reception at the Princess Bayside. On June 2nd, 2012 at sunset, we were married in front of our closest family members and friends. It was a magical, beautiful evening. We visit the Princess Bayside on every trip to Ocean City to remember our very special day.

My husband and I were married at The Golden Sands Club on May 20th, 2017. Our wedding was initially supposed to take place beachfront with cocktail hour and appetizers for our guests but due to extreme winds it was moved inside to the atrium which was where our reception was taking place. The staff at the Golden Sands was extremely professional and accommodating with the day-of change and we couldn't be happier. Our pictures were still taken on the beach and they came out beautifully.

We chose an Ocean City wedding because our families love visiting the beach every summer and own property in Ocean City, Maryland, so this was the perfect place for us to share our special day. The atrium at The Golden Sands is absolutely beautiful with floor to ceiling windows, tons of natural light and a wonderful staff. We were on a modest budget and I searched high and low and what we accomplished was beautiful. Our color palette for the wedding was blush pink, silver and white. Every detail was perfect. My bridal party, mom, and every other member of the family absolutely loved the wedding and the views. Rev.
Howard Travers officiated and his tone and words were beautiful. We truly had a magical day in Ocean City and although it was cruisers weekend we wouldn't change anything!

My husband and I were married on August 7, 2016, my 40th birthday, on the beach around 21st Street at sundown. It was both of our second marriages, it was just the two of us,the minister, and the ocean and it was as beautiful as any wedding I could have imagined. Proof that things can be better the second time around!

Planning a wedding in Ocean City, was by far, a fun and stress-free experience. The short of it: our beach front wedding (and reception) was held at The Atrium at the Golden Sands, our flowers were beautifully done by Ocean City Florist, our cake was deliciously created by Cake Art (in Salisbury), DJ Paul Parrinello played at our wedding (all the way from Pikesville), Ocean City’s own Rev. Eileen Dudley helped make our ceremony great and our rehearsal dinner was so graciously hosted by Smitty McGee’s Irish Pub in West Fenwick Island.

Eileen at the Golden Sands was very insightful, helpful and easy-going. Eileen had suggestions from table overlays to timing the ceremony with the sunset. This location has gorgeous views and is very military-friendly. Eileen helped us pull off the stress-free wedding we wanted
within 6 months, as my fiance (now husband) was deploying shortly after our wedding date. The ladies at Ocean City florist were creative, easy to work with and ultimately produced beautiful purple orchid and white rose arrangements.
After a day or two of fun cake tastings in and around the Ocean City area with my willing aunt, Cake Art in Salisbury won us over. Ms. Susan Patt took her time to meet with us, draw various designs and offer fun suggestions (like graham cracker crumble around the base of the cake with our names to resemble sand). To this day, our family and friends still talk about the deliciousness of the cake (the European Buttercream frosting is an absolute must!). Our goal for the ceremony was for it to be meaningful yet fun and relaxed, and Rev. Eileen Dudley made it just that. If you’re looking for a place to host a laid-back rehearsal dinner, the staff at Smitty McGee’s Irish Pub in West Fenwick Island were very accommodating. We are already thinking about a 10-year anniversary party at The Atrium!
